|         JV400        Firmware Version Upgrading Method                  |

The JV400Series enables the firmware to upgrade via an interface cable 
from a computer.

In order to transmit the firmware from the computer to the plotter, Mimaki
FW Version Upgrade function of FW UpdateTool III shall be used.
Refer to the separate instruction manual as follows for the FW UpdateTool III.

1. Upgrading the plotter firmware version.
===========================================

  1) Connect the plotter with computer by using an interface cable.
  2) Turn ON powers of the computer and plotter.
  3) Press the REMOTE key while the version on the plotter is
     appeared on the plotter display.

  4) Transmit the version upgraded file to the plotter from the computer
     by using FW Version Upgrade function of FW UpdateTool III.

   +------------------+   When the plotter receives data, the display
   | *TRANSMIT START* |   indicates as the left. Wait for several minutes
   | S recieving...   |   until completion of the receiving.
   +------------------+

   +------------------+   When the plotter receives all data, the display
   | TYPE:HOST->MAIN  |   indicates as the left.
   | ver :2.70->2.50  |   Press ENTER key.

   | ver :2.70->2.50  |   Do not cut out power of the plotter while this
   | writing F/W      |   display appears because the program is being
   +------------------+   written into the memory.


     If a trouble occurs in the plotter side, the error message appears.
     In such case, please contact to MIMAKI distributor.

  5) When the version upgrading completes, plotter reboots automatically.
